American Cheerleader's Next Top Model

posted by Brittany Geragotelis on Tuesday, Feb 05

I'm not a big fan of most of the reality shows out there (I mean, how realistic is "The Real World" or "The Bachelor" anyway?!), but I do have to admit that when they have the marathons of "America's Next Top Model" on MTV or VH1, I can't tear myself away from the tube (Check out the latest "ANTM" winner, Saleisha, in the pic to the right). One of the reasons I like the show is because a lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff at the photo shoots hits home for me. I'm at most of our fashion and cover shoots for American Cheerleader and get to have a lot of fun directing all you cheerleaders in how to pose and have a blast dancing around to high-energy music while hamming it up in front of the camera. But of course, the other part of the show I really dig is just the fact that here are these regular girls who get to dress-up and play model for the day! I think most of us at one point have fantasized about seeing our mugs in our favorite mag (go on and admit it....I won't tell!), but have probably assumed that our picture-perfect status could simply never be a reality (mostly because as cheerleaders a majority of us are bordering around just 5 feet tall—not exactly supermodel height!).

Well, for all those height-challenged athletes out there, American Cheerleader's your opportunity to make your dreams a reality! I've mentioned before that we're always on the lookout for awesome, talented and photogenic cheerleaders to feature in the magazine....and right now, we're currently on the lookout for cheerleaders in the nearby Orlando, FL-area who would be available for a fashion shoot scheduled to take place sometime in the month of February. We are looking for energetic, outgoing and very photogenic girls between the age of 15-21 who would be able to spend the day with the AC staff and model various campwear fashion!

If you're a current cheerleader who's always wanted to be a model, has modeled before or simply love having your picture taken (AND live in the Orlando, FL area!!!) we want to hear from you!

Send me an e-mail including as many photos of yourself as possible (preferably close-up and with little to no makeup), in your uniform or in regular street clothes. Also be sure to include the following: Name, squad/team name, age, address, phone number and e-mail address. Send all e-mails to: Brittany@americancheerleader.com, subject line: American Cheerleader's Next Top Model!

We know it's not exactly like the reality show, but if you're picked, it'll be a lot of fun—minus the drama you see on TV! I'm looking forward to hearing from you!
