A different kind of game face

posted by Jenn Smith on Tuesday, Mar 25

A few weeks ago, the gaming company THQ announced that it's in the process of creating All-Star Cheer Squad, the very first cheerleading video game for Nintendo DS and Wii systems, which will hit shelves this fall. Yesterday, I was lucky enough to observe a choreography session with Tony G (to check out his Hollywood resume, click here) and six super-talented cheerleaders who have worked on a ton of projects with him ranging from films, commercials and music videos. The session was a rehearsal before the gang heads into the motion capture studio (I quickly learned that everyone in the game biz simply refers to this process as "Mo-Cap"), to record the dance moves and motions for both versions of the game. We’ll have a lot more info on All-Star Cheer Squad in a future issue, but we can tell you now, that if you heart Dance, Dance Revolution than you’ll most likely become obsessed with this game. The music is brand new and is so upbeat and catchy, I can’t get it out of my head!
